Cloud Software Group and Microsoft partnership

In April 2024, Cloud Software Group and Microsoft announced an eight-year strategic partnership that aims to bring joint cloud solutions and generative AI to more than 100 million people.

About the Cloud Software Group and Microsoft partnership

This collaboration, between two of the worlds leading technology organisations, is a strategic agreement that is designed to jointly accelerate customers’ cloud journeys with tailored solutions and expert guidance. Citrix will use Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud solution, enhancing its platform with Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365. This partnership will also facilitate modern procurement via Azure Marketplace for easy evaluation and renewal of Citrix solutions, and enhance their go-to-market collaboration, cloud development and AI solutions.

This alliance epitomizes the ‘Better Together’ philosophy, merging the strengths of both organisations to deliver unparalleled value and innovative technology to their customers.

Benefits to look forward to:

For Users:

  • Enhanced Productivity: The partnership will accelerate productivity and new innovations in AI. For instance, GitHub Copilot will be deployed to all engineers in Cloud Software Group’s organisations, aiming to increase developer productivity by over 20%.
  • Improved Data Management: Spotfire, a Cloud Software Group business unit, announced a new Spotfire Copilot™ extension built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI service. The Copilot assistant is embedded directly within Spotfire to help customers get more done with their data faster.

For Organisations:

  • Integrated Product Roadmap: The collaboration will support the development of new cloud and AI solutions with an integrated product roadmap.
  • Preferred Partnership: Under the partnership, Citrix will be the preferred Microsoft Global Azure Partner solution for Enterprise Desktop as a Service when collaborating with joint Azure customers.
  • Customer Support: The companies will jointly support customer success, offer tailored solutions, expert guidance, and support to accelerate customers’ cloud journeys.
  • Simplified Licensing: The simplification of the new Universal and Cloud Platform licensing, which brings together all of Citrix’s capabilities, will make joint solutions with Microsoft much easier for customers to consume and deploy.

The two tech giants are focused on delivering ways for customers to minimize risk, reduce cost, and simplify the complexity of accelerating transformations to the cloud. This will result in Customers becoming more agile, more productive, and more secure.

This strategic partnership between the Cloud Software Group and Microsoft is a beacon of innovation, promising to redefine the landscape of technology. This alliance is not just a merger of two tech giants, but a fusion of visions, expertise, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

As we stand on the brink of this new era, we eagerly anticipate the groundbreaking product innovations that will emerge from this collaboration over the next eight years. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to embark on this exciting journey of discovery and growth.
